Pineapple Sour Barley Water
Barley Water has been around for centuries and has been used as a healing refreshment. This beverage gets a flavor boost with DOLE Pineapple Sour Mix and pineapple chunks, for garnish.
1 cup Barley
1 quart Water
2 tablespoons Lemon Zest
2 tablespoons Lime Juice
1 ¼ cup DOLE Sweet & Sour Mix
1 tablespoon Honey
DOLE IQF Pineapple Chunks, thawed, for garnish
Lemon Wheels, for garnish
- Rinse barley thoroughly, then add it to a small pot with the water and lemon zest. Bring mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Drain the mixture and reserve the liquid in an appropriately sized container or carafe.
- To the barley liquid add the lime juice, pineapple sour, and honey.
- Chill and serve garnished with lemon wheel and a chunk of pineapple.
