Sumac Strawberry Open Faced Pitas
(2018 Pairings Recipe) A tasty open-faced sandwich.
Ingredients
2 8-inch pita bread toasted
½ cup frozen DOLE Diced Avocado thawed
1 cup crumbled feta cheese
1 cup DOLE Chef-Ready Cuts Sliced Strawberries thawed
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
2 tablespoons ground sumac
as desired microgreens
as desired coarse sea salt
as desired freshly ground black pepper
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350° F.
- Place pita breads in oven for 7 minutes to toast throughout. Remove and allow to cool.
- Mash avocado in a small mixing bowl, and season with salt and pepper as desired.
- Top each pita with 1/2 cup of crumbled feta, 1/2 cup of sliced Strawberries, 1 tablespoon of lime juice, and 1 tablespoon of sumac.
- Finish with optional garnishes and serve immediately.
