Sausage and Pesto Pineapple Pizza
Pesto is the sauce for this wonderful tasting Italian-style pizza with sausage and pineapple.
1/2 lb. crumbled Italian sausage
1 cup red onion sliced
6 oz. (1 cup) bottled pesto
1 (12-inch) pizza crust
1 cup (6 oz.) DOLE Pineapple Tidbits drained
6 oz. (1-1/2 cups) mozzarella cheese shredded
fresh basil leaves
- Cook sausage and onion in large skillet until sausage is browned and onion is very tender. Drain off fat.
- Spread pesto over crust. Top with sausage, onion, and pineapple tidbits over crust. Sprinkle with cheese.
- Bake at 450°F, 12 to 15 minutes, or until crust is golden brown.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves, if desired.
