Apple Tzatziki Bowl
(2017 Pairings) A sharable dish with yogurt, apples and cucumber, seasoned with dill. Serve with pita bread seasoned with za'atar for dipping.
Ingredients
1 qt plain Greek yogurt
⅓ cup grated frozen DOLE Sliced Apples partially thawed
⅓ cup grated English cucumber unpeeled
½ tsp garlic paste
2 Tbsp lemon juice
5 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil divided
½ cup DOLE Chef-Ready Cuts Diced Apples
¼ cup chopped fresh dill
½ Tbsp ground black pepper
½ Tbsp kosher salt
2 Tbsp zaatar
2 pita bread
Directions
- Combine yogurt, grated apples, cucumber, garlic, lemon juice and 2 tablespoons olive oil, in medium bowl. Stir until blended.
- Stir in diced apples, dill, black pepper and salt, until thoroughly blended.
- Spoon into serving dish. Cover; refrigerate at least 4 hours.
- Preheat oven to 450°F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Stir together remaining 3 tablespoons olive oil and za'atar in small bowl. Brush over pita bread and place on baking sheet.
- Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Slice into thin pizza-style slices.
- Serve tzatziki with pita bread slices.
