Growing up in a Latin household, Chef Candice, inherited a passion for cooking, influenced by the regions of Mexico, Costa Rica, and Puerto Rico. Candice first began her culinary career at the New School of Cooking, where she was able to hone her skills and later moved on to work at the Langham Hotel before launching her own Private Chef business, Chef Candice LLC. While her business started out in the greater Los Angeles area, she now resides in Creston, CA and continues to work as a freelance chef, collaborating with local businesses, restaurants, chefs, and private clients.
Chef Candice chose to create a recipe that honors her Latin heritage, Pork & Pineapple Carnitas Tacos. This sweet and savory combination is truly a match made in taco heaven! Succulent pork shoulder, marinated in DOLE Pineapple Juice and an array of spices is complimented by a sweet and spicy Roasted Pineapple Salsa, served over corn or flour tortillas.
The charity Chef Candice chose to partner with for this collaboration is ECHO, a non-profit organization that helps provide food and shelter for the homeless population in the Paso Robles, CA area. The organization works to provide daily meals, as well as clothing and basic necessities to those in need.
