Caramelized Onion and Pineapple Pizza

Perfect pizza for those who enjoy a bit of sweetness and tangy.

2 tbsp (2 oz) butter or margarine
2 large onion(s)
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp chopped fresh basil leaves
1 garlic clove(s), finely chopped
1 pizza crust (12-inch)
1 cup (6 oz) DOLE® Pineapple Tidbits, drained
1/4 cup toasted walnuts
1/4 cup (2 oz) crumbled blue cheese


  1. Melt butter, in large skillet.  Add onions and salt, cook for 5 min. stirring frequently.
  2. Sprinkle onions with sugar, lower heat; cook until onions are golden brown (about 25 min.), stirring occasionally.
  3. Combine oil, basil and garlic; brush over crust.  Spread onions evenly over crust; top with pineapple tidbits, walnuts and cheese.
  4. Bake at 450°F 12 to 15 min. or until crust is golden brown.
