Pacific Burger
A tropical take on a classic favorite. K-12 Crediting: 1/4 cup fruit, 4 oz. grain, 4 oz. meat/meat alternative.
Ingredients
24 pre-made turkey or beef patties
1-½ cups bottled bbq sauce
24 slices DOLE Pineapple Slices in juice drained
24 whole grain kaiser or hamburger rolls sliced
24 Romaine lettuce leaves
Directions
- Brush each meat patty with BBQ sauce.
- Cook according to manufacturer’s instructions, adding pineapple slices to burger for last 5-10 minutes of cooking.
Place burger on bun. Top with lettuce. Serve with additional BBQ sauce if desired.
TIP: Reserve the juice from the DOLE Pineapple Slices to use as a marinade for the burgers.
