Banana Apple Crisp

Apple crisp further sweetened with bananas.

INGREDIENTS:

6 lbs (approx. 16 bananas) DOLE® Bananas, sliced
8 lbs (approx. 16 apples) DOLE Green Apples, peeled, cored, chunked
16 fl. oz. (2 cups) orange juice
2 tbsp ground cinnamon, divided
2 tsp ground nutmeg, divided
1 lb (3 cups) chopped almonds, toasted
1 lb (2 cups) packed brown sugar
14 oz (2 cups) granulated sugar
8 oz (2 cups) all-purpose flour
6 oz (2 cups) rolled oats
1 lb (2 cups) butter, cut into small pieces

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Toss together bananas, apples, orange juice, 1 tbsp. cinnamon and 1 tsp. nutmeg. Divide evenly between two 2x20x24-inch pans.
  2. Combine almonds, sugars, flour, oats, 1 tbsp. cinnamon and 1 tsp. nutmeg. Cut in butter until crumble. Sprinkle over fruit, dividing evenly between pans. Bake at 350°F., for 45 minutes or until topping is browned.
  3. Cut 4x6.
